Kashimayari Ski Resort

This is a full-scale ski resort with 22 courses, including a long 5-km downhill course. Various winter activities such as snowshoeing can be enjoyed, and this resort is open at night from late December to mid-March.
A free shuttle bus is available from Shinano Omachi Station and Omachi Onsenkyo.

Jiigatake Ski Resort

This ski resort offers a popular ski slope intended for children, and its gentle slopes with wide visibility are excellent for families with children and groups. It is 10 minutes away by taxi from Omachi Onsenkyo, where you can relax in hot springs after a day on the slopes.

Yanaba Snow Park

Convenient access thanks to its location beside National Route 148 and a JR station (trains stop only in winter). Plenty of gentle slopes mean beginners and children can enjoy winter sports. Recommended for families.

The ski resorts mentioned above offer various types of sleds for rent, which not only children but also adults can enjoy.

Snowshoeing

This winter activity can be enjoyed thanks to Omachi having abundant snow. Snowshoes can be rented at Alps Azumino National Government Park.

Winter Fantasia — Omachi Snow Festival

This event is held in February each year.In addition to the events mentioned below, a variety of events take place at various locations in Omachi.
– “Dream Fireworks and Sound Festival” in Omachi Onsenkyo: every Saturday
Visitors can enjoy the collaboration of Omachi’s traditional drum performances and fireworks.
– “Kashimayari Fire Festival” in Kashimayari Sports Village: in early February
The feature of this event is skiers with torches skiing down the hill as well as a fireworks display.
